TRAINING & CONSULTING

The Caring Congregation offers different options to receive specialized training required to take your care ministries to a new level. Our goal is to train your organization to provide excellent care for your church and community. To that end, we have developed three different options for training. 

OPTION 1:  SEMINARS

• This option involves a two-day on-site seminar at a host church or organization whereby one of our seminar leaders provides introductory care ministry training. Most seminars are held on Friday and Saturday to allow for greatest participation. Seminars offer foundational group training designed for pastors and laity to learn the basics on how to establish and conduct an effective care ministry based on Part 1 & 2 of Rev. Karen Lampe and Rev. Melissa Gepford's books, The Caring Congregation Ministry: Implementation Guide, and the Care Minister's Manual. The seminar host receives additional consultation for up to one year after the seminar. Participants receive certificates for 10 contact hours in congregational care.  Contact us for availability and pricing.

OPTION 2:   WEBINARS 

• National Care Ministry Webinars - are currently offered spring, summer, and fall for individuals across the nation to participate in an online live-streamed  CCM Introductory Training Course (14 hours over 2 days). This online webinar offers the same basic foundational training described in our seminars for a broader audience. Participants receive certificates, limited access to recordings, and an invitation to a follow up meeting. Contact us  for group discounts available to watch parties with 5 or more participants. 
• Customized Care Ministry Webinars - Same introductory training above, but customized for a private group or organization on dates mutually agreed upon for training. This intensive 2-day live-streamed event is customizable to include representation by the host, and more or less emphasis on certain aspects of the training for your specific setting as requested. Fees are paid by the seminar host. Contact us to set up your custom webinar.

OPTION 3:  ONLINE COURSES & COACHING FROM TCC ACADEMY @ TEACHABLE.COM 

• Basic CCM Training Online Courses. Our basic introductory course is a perfect way to train individual staff and laity when joining your care ministry team. This course is self paced. Individual paid registration required. Upon completion, individuals may request a certificate of completion. There is also a basic course just for Certified Lay Ministers seeking a Specialization In Congregational Care in connection with the UMC Discipleship Ministries.
• Beyond the Basics Online Course.  This is for individuals to further their expertise beyond the basic training course. Currently we are featuring our "Caring for People in Crisis" course covering Part 3 of The Caring Congregation Ministry: Implementation Guide, and the Care Minister's Manual.  Individual paid registration required. 
• Cohort Small Learning Groups - One of our self-paced online courses above paired with live coaching sessions from a TCC National Seminar Leader in a small group learning format of 4-8 persons.
• Individual Zoom Coaching  - Schedule a session with one of our national leaders to assist in adapting The Caring Congregation model of care to meet specific situations.
